Kaplan Professional has announced a six-week intensive study period to help practitioners who still have not met the financial adviser standards education requirements and will consider the potential to add more intensives.

Existing financial advisers who do not meet the 10-year experience exemption have until 31 December 2025 to have their education details correctly registered on ASIC’s Financial Advisers Register (FAR).

The intensive study period will allow advisers to complete a subject in six weeks or half the time of a standard study period. It will commence on 11 August and run alongside Kaplan’s final two regular intakes of the year before the deadline.

According to Adviser Ratings’ “Adviser Musical Chairs” report for the first quarter of 2025, as many as 12,000 advisers were still to update their records on the FAR at the end of that quarter.

“Another major focus for us has been working with licensees to ensure they have a complete understanding of their responsibilities to ensure their advisers’ education details are correctly registered on the FAR,” Knight said.

“We feel it is our duty as an educator to ensure we can get as many advisers as possible across the line before the end of the year … we will continue to reassess progression statistics and if there is continued demand from both licensees and advisers, we will explore the option to add more intensives.”

While acknowledging the condensed format still demanded the same level of study and assessments, Kaplan Professional said it would provide a comprehensive support structure, including tailored weekly study plans, weekly academic drop-in sessions, timely feedback between assessments, and dedicated course advice and student experience teams.
