In Brief: July Edition

Do you have a good advice story?

Are you an adviser with a customer who'd like to tell their story how your advice helped them?

Are you a customer with a good story about how advice has added value to your life?

I’d rather sit down with a female financial planner

When it comes to making money, most of us want the best. It’s a bit like going to a heart surgeon – performance and track record are what matters, and gender shouldn’t come into it.

But gender bias is a powerful force, and it could be holding women back financially in more ways than you might think.

Perhaps this is not surprising given that women tend to have less disposable income on average to spend on advice – which averages at $3500 per year, according to Adviser Ratings.

The good news is that those women who do take action – with or without a financial adviser – are more likely to see the financial security benefits.

I understand why women need to talk to women, but ive got a heap of single women as clients. so I also think that womem need to also put aside their own biases and have a chat to a male adviser and if that does not wortk then search for a female. I won't be offended. my other question is why do i continously see this $3,500 figure that ONLY realtes to a Per Annum cost. no one seems to want to find out and quote the Upfront cost of advice, which by always quoting the Per Annum cost is misleading. cheers Roland
