ETF stands for Exchange Traded Fund and as the name suggests it is a fund of individual investments like shares, that can be traded directly on a stock exchange, like the ASX.

The benefit of an ETF is that it gets you a low-cost, pre-made exposure to an investment market, sector or theme and you can trade an ETF just like a normal share on the Aussie stock exchange.

ETF’s give Australian investors an easy and cost effective way to access markets, sectors and themes they could only dream about a few years ago, most notably in international markets which are the fastest growing segment for ETF’s in Australia.

There are now over 380 ETFs available on the ASX, however keeping track of them is becoming a full time job, hence the service offered by etfadviser.com.au
