Kim Wood

Kim is a Senior Financial Planner at ‘What If Advice’. He is qualified with a Graduate Certificate of Financial Planning from Griffith University, and holds a Diploma of Financial Planning. Kim has been helping people to plan well so they can achieve their financial goals and objectives for over 20 years, with a particular passion and speciality skill set in assisting people in the all-important area of retirement planning.

Kim is an extremely passionate and knowledgeable adviser with a wealth of knowledge and experience acquired across a broad spectrum of the financial landscape. During the 90’s, Kim was based in London where he lived and worked consulting to a number of multinational financial institutions, including Credit Lyonnais, UBS, Sumitomo Investments and ANZ Bank (London), before returning to Australia .

At the turn of the century, Kim gave up the corporate finance life in-order to pursue his greater passion for helping ‘real people’ achieve their financial goals and objectives through his highly successful finance broking and financial planning business based in Brisbane. In 2007, Kim moved to Dubai in the UAE, and then later Malaysia where he spent the next 10 years specialising in providing tax and financial advice to the Australian expatriate communities throughout the MENA and ASEAN regions, before returning home to Australia with his wife and young daughter in order to be closer to family and friends.

One of Kim’s professional passions is demystifying the complex world of finance for his clients and educating them to improve the public’s perception of the financial planning industry, and the quality of advice delivered. Kim is a professional member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia which requires commitment to a code of ethics and professional conduct so you can rest assured Kim will do the right thing by you. Personally, Kim is happily married with young daughter and enjoys spending time with them and embracing all the South East Queensland has to offer.
