I have been very strategic in my career, staying away from large financial institutions, and gaining first hand experience in the 3 main assets people use to build wealth - managed funds, direct equities and direct investment property. This has given me a broader view of each asset class, and the appropriateness for clients as they seek to invest for their longer term future.
