Dean Southern

Like many others, I've spent my working life doing something I never thought I would do. Back in high school, I imagined myself in hotel management because it seemed like an exciting career and I'm somewhat of a night owl, but by the end of Year 12 I realised that hospitality wasn't for me.

That realisation kicked off a path I didn't expect...first a data and compliance role in the city, then a business degree majoring in HR, and eventually a "real" career in HR that lasted a decade. From there, I took on the challenge of running a large logistics operation, managing people, pressure and complexity at scale. Looking back, each of those roles gave me a front row seat to business, finance, people, goals and achievement.

Outside of work, I enjoy running through the Blue Mountains, being involved with my local football club Springwood United on the committee in 2026, getting down to the beach with my family when we can, diving into anything related to personal finance and investing, and sharing coffee and time with friends and family.

I moved into Financial Advice last year to take control of my own direction and follow a passion that has been quietly building for years. I've tried my hand at different careers, learned a lot through trial and error (including my own financial goals), and now feel genuinely ready to help people navigate theirs with clarity, confidence, and long-term purpose.
