Hi, I'm Amanda — financial adviser, business owner, wife, mum, and someone who genuinely believes good advice can change people's lives.
Long before I worked in financial planning, I was living many of the same challenges my clients face today. In 2001, my husband and I took a leap of faith and started our own business. Like many small business owners, we learned quickly that success isn't just about working hard—it's about making good decisions, adapting when life changes, and having a plan for the future.
Over the next 25 years, I balanced the realities of running a business with raising two daughters. There were plenty of rewarding moments, but also plenty of lessons along the way. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the pressures families and business owners face when trying to build a secure future while still enjoying life today.
What started as a personal interest in finance gradually became something bigger. I found myself drawn to helping people make sense of their financial choices and gain confidence in the decisions they were making. That passion led me back to study, where I completed a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Planning, Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning and specialist qualifications in aged care advice.
But if there's one thing I've learned, it's that financial advice is about far more than qualifications, strategies, or numbers on a page. People don't come to an adviser because they want a financial plan sitting in a drawer. They come because they're looking for clarity. They want reassurance during uncertain times. They want guidance when life throws something unexpected their way. Most importantly, they want to know someone is listening and genuinely understands what's important to them.
Since beginning my advice career in 2016, I've had the privilege of helping clients through some of life's biggest transitions—preparing for retirement, navigating aged care decisions, protecting their families, managing inheritances, building wealth, and creating financial security for the future. These aren't just financial decisions; they're life decisions, and I never lose sight of that.
My approach is grounded in empathy, education, and practical advice. I believe financial planning should feel approachable, not intimidating. It should help people feel empowered rather than overwhelmed. And it should always be tailored to the person sitting across the table.
Today, as an AFP® member of the Financial Advice Association Australia and an Aged Care Specialist, I continue to build my knowledge and expertise. But what matters most to me is helping clients feel confident about their future and supported throughout the journey.
