I’ve been working in the financial services industry since 2007, and have been authorised as a financial adviser with Unite Advisory (and Count) since 2017. I work mostly out of our Macksville and Coffs Harbour offices but have clients all over NSW.
I take pride in myself and try to be the best version of myself. I am always learning and trying to become better at what I do. That’s why I have taken the time to complete my Certified Financial Planner qualification. This is an achievement that I am very proud of, as it is globally recognised as having the highest education and ethical standards in financial planning.
Personality wise, I would say I am quiet but confident. Easy going, friendly and an honest person. I think I have a strong work ethic and I’m very process driven. I am patient and understanding and will not rush (or push) you into any financial decisions.
Why am I a financial planner?
I just enjoy helping people. I feel honoured that people trust me enough to ask for my advice and help. I really enjoy the strategic and technical side of what I do, the challenge of coming up with a solution for a client’s specific situation or problem.
But what really excites me most, is the warm and fuzzy feeling I get when I see the positive difference, I have made in someone’s life. It’s hearing the client thank me for what I have done for them and referring me to their family and friends.
My advice philosophy
To provide good advice, at a fair price while being a good human. Money and finances can be a complicated concept for some people. I try to make it as simple as possible, without over complicating things.
My focus is on first providing ‘strategy’ advice rather than being product focused. It is important to get the strategy and structure right first and then the product and investment advice follows. Front of mind is always having a client focus with everything I do. Doing whatever I can to make your life easier. It’s about really understanding my clients, their goals, values, needs and what they expect from me. Finding solutions to problems they didn’t know they had. To be respectful, upfront and honest. Be realistic about the outcomes I can achieve for a client. Treat clients the same as I would my family and friends. Following these principles allows me to build trusted ongoing relationships with my clients.
Your first ‘meet and greet’ meeting is at our cost.
Once we have a better understanding of the complexity of your situation and the advice you are seeking, we will provide you with a quote for the preparation and implementation of your financial plan.
Grant was easy to understand and gave us quite a few options to talk and think about. Grant was responsive with any questions we asked.
This was our first Financial Planner experience as we are approaching retirement. Grant was very professional, open and easy to work with. Grant was not pushy in any way and it was a pleasure to work with home in developing our retirement plans. I would have no hesitation in recommending Grant to anyone else looking for financial planning advice.
Easy to communicate with and always looking out for us.
We were extremely happy with our dealings with Grant.
I have been dealing with Grant for many years. He has a detailed knowledge of superannuation and investments and advised me well over the years. He is a plain talker and I understand everything he tells me.
I have recommended family and friends to Grant as I know he will look after their financial interests.
