I have been advising people for 25 years as an adviser and paraplanner and 15 years as an accountant. 'Blessed to be a blessing' and 'desire to serve' are my whys. I nearly quit soon after I started because of what I saw in the industry but I stuck at it because I know I can make a difference without compromising my values. Your goals matter, your values matter and your thoughts matter. I am a goals-based adviser and that is where we start. The areas that I believe make a difference (in order of priority) are money management (cashflow), strategy, asset allocation and products (note that products are last in priority). If you áre seeking an adviser who will promise investment returns or products that will fix all your problems then I am probably not the person for you as I do not have the ego.
